My name is Harold Rittner and I am running for School Board Director. I have lived in East Pennsboro Township for 15 years and have 5 children. Two Children have graduated from the East Pennsboro School system and I have two children that are working their way through our system. One is currently in Middle School and the other is in Elementary school. I have come to realize that we do a pretty darn good job of educating our children and I want to maintain that excellence and guide it to new heights. I am excited to embark on this new adventure and would like to spend a moment and share my qualifications and my vision and mission.

QUALIFICATIONS

I am a Penn State graduate with a degree in Business Management, and was an executive with IBM for 38 years in their Global Services division and spent a good amount of my time managing operation abroad in Latin America and the Asia Pacific Region. Once I retired from IBM, I then moved into the Insurance sector about 8 years ago. I am the professional behind the professional and spend my time advising insurance agents on how they can best serve their clients with insurance products and services. I believe my experience and knowledge in the business world can help our school system and community for the foreseeable future.

MY VISION

To develop well rounded, confident and responsible individuals who will pass through our East Pennsboro school system and are inspired to achieve their full potential. To become happy, productive, respected members of our community that will hopefully give back to our community and inspire the next generation.

MISSION 

I would like to be an ambassador to the community, a bridge between the school system and our community. I would also like to ensure there are ample opportunities for all kids so that they may be challenged and have fun with internal and external extracurricular activities. I plan to be a steward for fiscal vitality, ensuring that we are using our taxpayer dollars wisely in a smart, efficient, and creative manner that best benefits our kids. I want to ensure our school policies and curriculum are current and relative in today’s environment to ensure a safe, pertinent, balanced and intelligent way of learning.

My Plan to achieve this vision and mission is simple.  I will Listen, Learn and apply what I have learned into practical solutions with our children’s best interest at the fore front…always.
