Edward Diehl: Committed to Excellence for East Pennsboro Township
Re-elect Ed Diehl to continue his positive, service-focused impact for East Pennsboro Township. As your Township Commissioner, Ed Diehl brings dedication and a holistic practical focus to solutions to ensure East Pennsboro Township can continue to be a safe and family-oriented place to live. He is committed to reducing process waste, making every taxpayer dollar cover those costs, listening to residents, and working collaboratively with staff to address the challenges and opportunities facing our community.
Ed actively participates in the decision-making processes for important matters such as revising community planning ordinances and zoning for improved readability and hiring actions for 80% of the management staff in the Police Department, Public Works and Engineering. He takes initiative to ensure staff reasoning for initiatives is reviewed at public meetings and makes motions to authorize vital agreements, such as reinvigorating the Industrial and Commercial Redevelopment Authority and modernizing the waste treatment facility to reduce the risk of possible release of chemicals dangerous to people and the environment.
Ed's focus also extends to the well-being of the township's environment, demonstrated by his attention to maintaining a buffer for the arboretum. He has also shown a commitment to responsible financial planning by asking detailed questions about long-term costs for potential township projects such as total costs of ownership and infrastructure life-extension efforts like the Summerdale stormwater pipe-lining projects, the life-cycle management of EPT Fire-fighting equipment, and upgrades to aging radio systems for the EPTFD and EPTPD. He has also consistently advocated for fair and more reasonable application of community development requirements.
